John McCulloch, born in Aberdeen then moved to Glasgow. He has been painting for many years and studied as a mature student at Glasgow School of Art evening classes in the 1960s

He studied under the tutorage of John Cunningham and James Robertson. He mainly exhibits in galleries around the Glasgow area and has exhibited at the Royal Academy Edinburgh and frequently at the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art.

At present his work is concerned with portraiture in the modern and contemporary style.
